KPIX – CBS News Bay Area in San Francisco is searching for a Studio Technician to join our multifaceted production team.

 

The candidate we’re looking for is an excellent communicator, has strong organizational skills, has an eye for framing studio shots and operate a studio jib in additional to other various studio responsibilities as assigned. We have a few jibs across our studios supporting traditional studio productions on hard news set as well as full Virtual Reality productions on a giant studio Cyc. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ideal candidate would work as the communication link between the production control room and the on-set talent during production and act as a studio / field jib operator when required.
  • The position works closely with show directors and news talent, as well as the Operations and Engineering Departments to improve production possibilities of various news and special programming projects.
  • Additional responsibilities include daily studio setup and maintenance (including studio lighting, wireless microphones IFB and stage) for CBS News Bay Area newscasts, special programming / live remote specials and other responsibilities as needed.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $80,000.00 - 90,000.00. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
