Nickelodeon Animation is looking for Media Archives Coordinator to join the Nickelodeon Archives and Library team. Someone in this role should have a minimum of 3 - 5 years relevant experience working in archives, digital asset management, or related field. The candidate will work closely with Avatar Studios to assist with the digital asset management processes, including, but not limited to, metadata and taxonomy management, DAM system enhancements, and source material deliveries.

The environment is dynamic, challenging, and varies, so the ideal candidate should be an excellent teammate who is adaptable, able to multi-task, and willing to wear several different hats.


  • This role will serve as a key liaison to Nickelodeon Archives & Library and Avatar Studios to ensure the production goals and mission, as well as company needs are met.
  • Process a variety of digital production assets, which include:
  • Cataloging
  • Metadata and taxonomy management relevant to production’s needs
  • Asset management
  • Work closely with Animation Technology team, IT support team, and partners on communicating Avatar-specific enhancements and improvements to digital asset management systems, including, but not limited to:
  • DAM usability
  • UI/UX and system audits
  • User management
  • File naming conventions (established with TD and pipeline team)
  • Managing animation material deliveries, includes, but not limited to,
  • Documenting pipeline content and technical attributes
  • Liaison with vendor studios
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Paramount asset management groups, as well as external clients.
  • Assist with archiving of physical materials in a variety of formats including photographic prints, slides, negatives of all formats, contact sheets, original artwork, memorabilia, as well as born digital assets.
  • Create and update digital and physical inventory records
  • Communicate established policies and processes related to archives and related resources
  • Conduct research as needed
  • Perform duties as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree or Experience with archival and preservation, with a focus on born-digital materials and media asset management
  • Knowledge of animation production pipeline and processes
  • Experience working both collaboratively and independently
  • Ability to adapt to change, remain flexible, and problem solve
  • Basic understanding of available DAM software platforms and their functionality
  • Knowledge of metadata and taxonomy models

Additional Qualifications:

  • MLIS or Digital Asset Management degree or certificate
  • Familiar with Avatar the Last Airbender and related Avatarverse
