Is this the role for you?

 

The Director, Strategy - VCNI UK, Australia & Israel will be a key member of the Cluster Strategy team, and will play a pivotal role in setting a strategic path for VCNI in the these geographies, while working through and creating competitive advantages in pursuit of sustainable revenue and OI growth. A large part of the role will be focused on the UK business of the Cluster, however this person will often be expected to work on other Cluster wide priorities across geographies and time zones as needed.

 

What will you be doing?

 

Key Member of Cluster Strategy team setting overall strategic direction

 

  • Support the VP Strategy and Cluster senior management in setting the strategic agenda and manage the ongoing long-range planning process.
  • Contribute to key strategy and transformation projects by driving market and internal research, providing analytical and financial modelling support and preparing business plans and presentations
  • Assist in development and execution of recommended action plans to implement strategic priorities including new product launches and resolve strategic business challenges to achieve sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Project manage or help implement ad-hoc business projects as required by senior management by collaborating with key commercial, finance, content, marketing, and operations leaders across the Cluster.
  • Contribute to thought leadership for the Cluster in relation to key market/competitor/partner dynamics, new business models and other relevant industry developments that impact our business longer term.

 

Support Business Development and partnerships

 

  • Continuously stay abreast of latest market developments to be able to identify and propose new business development opportunities across the Cluster’s markets.
  • Analyse merits of potential organic and inorganic opportunities and present summarized recommendations to Cluster and VCNI management.
  • Work with commercial teams on larger partnership renewals and negotiations from a strategy & planning perspective.
  • Contribute to potential transaction projects including business evaluation of opportunity and commercial due diligence.

 

Contributor to budget and other presentations

 

  • Help develop overall narrative, strategic story and objectives for Long Range Plans and budgets.
  • Partner with finance to review submissions and assess financial growth and performance vs set strategic & financial objectives.
  • Contribute to drafting and production process of budget and other ad hoc presentations as required by management.

 

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Demonstrable experience in strategy consulting, investment banking or in a strategy function at a media or tech company
  • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of the media industry; experience in the UK media industry preferred
  • relevant BA/BS; MBA preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including expertise in developing Microsoft Power Point presentations and presenting to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated expertise in business case development and financial analysis & modelling; advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Goal-oriented team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects at once while meeting deadlines
