Producer

CBS Television Stations consists of 28 CBS-owned stations in 17 major U.S. markets, as well as the stations’ digital properties. The portfolio of stations includes 15 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates.

The station group’s properties also include CBSN Local, a joint initiative with CBS Interactive that features direct-to-consumer streaming news services in the markets where the Company has local news organizations. CBS Television Stations’ premium local content is also distributed to consumers by the group’s websites and mobile applications.

WJZ is looking for a dynamic Producer to work on Broadcast and on CBSN-Baltimore. CBSN is a live streaming network.

The role requires close coordination with News Managers, Assignment Desk and Broadcast Line Producers. Producing for CBSN involves producing material from existing broadcasts and creating new, additional content, editing, writing headlines and working with the web team to edit and publish video.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist fellow Producers and managers to lead a team of anchors, reporters, photographers, editors and writers.
• Helps with daily production, content and aggressive execution of news.
• Write scripts to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance with all FCC requirements.
• Anticipate the need of the show regarding video, graphics, scripts and other elements.
• Building Show rundowns.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Two + years’ experience in creating and building show rundowns in broadcast or digital environment.
• Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under extremely deadlines to write headlines for live digital broadcast.
• Familiar with iNews.
• Availability to work night or weekends.
