WBZ-TV is looking for a passionate, energetic Multi-Skilled Journalist (MSJ) reporter to join our team. We want someone who knows news, brings story ideas to the table, owns social media, and is passionate about local news. The right candidate must be able to shoot, write, and edit broadcast quality video to tell stories that connect with our audiences on all WBZ platforms.   
 
Primary Responsibilities:
• Strong writing and reporting skills; proven ability to react to breaking news situations
• Must be able to shoot, write, edit, and create basic graphics for daily content.  
• Dynamic Storytelling and interviewing abilities 
• Pitch vetted stories reflective of the community
• Establish and maintain relationships / sources in the community 
• Effective communicator in the field with story composition and live or look-live reporting
• Ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines
• Excellent news judgment, ability to problem-solve
• Key collaborator with team of managers
• Perform other duties as assigned 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• College Degree preferred.
• At least 3 years’ experience reporting in a commercial broadcast setting including regular live reporting; daily live reporting preferred
• Knowledge of social media and how to use it to promote to broadcast and the web; experience writing for the web required.
• Knowledge of iNews rundown systems and Avid Media Composer editing preferred
• Experience with emerging media techniques and equipment in a newsroom setting a plus.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends.
• SAG-AFTRA union membership required
