Summary:

Nickelodeon Animation Studio is looking for a Lighting/Compositing Artist to join our Kamp Koral Team!

Our ideal candidate thrives working in a collaborative team environment and is also able to work independently to complete creative and technical notes given in reviews. Having a CG generalist and digital problem-solving skillset is a big plus. Illustration and digital painting skills are a great addition.

Responsibilities:

  • Create light rigs for sequences and shots in Maya to achieve a rendered look based on concepts sent from clients and directors.
  • Composite shots to final and create Sequence templates in Nuke to be utilized by our team.
  • Digital touch-up, sweetening, and paint to finish composites as final art/illustrations.
  • Work independently using commercial and proprietary lighting, rendering, and compositing tools.
  • Able to switch gears quickly and stay organized on multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Work closely with show leadership to establish suitable work techniques and lighting tools when needed, as well as macros for 2D and 3D software for other team members with detailed documentation explaining tools and techniques.
  • Effectively communicate & pro-actively troubleshoot issues while adhering to Production deadlines.

Qualifications

  • A firm artistic understanding of light and composition.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with Nuke, Maya, Redshift, or other raytracing render engines.
  • Strong knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop needed.
  • Digital touch-up and painting ability.

Additional Qualifications

  • B.A. or B.S. in Animation or related field preferred.
  • Digital touch-up and painting ability.
  • Effects/FX skills are a plus.
  • TD & CG tool building experience is a plus.
  • Mel/Python Scripting experience a plus, but not required.
