Overview and Responsibilities

ViacomCBS is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join the Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence and set DevOps strategies in the areas of automation, platforms, and products within the team. Responsibilities Include


  • Introducing, improving, and supporting CI/CD processes, technologies, and tools to all tech teams
  • Recommending, consolidating, and centralizing tools, workflows, and infrastructure
  • Building and maintaining internal tools and infrastructure
  • Working closely with engineers of other specialties (including Cloud Engineers, Software Engineers, DBAs, Network Administrators) to ensure that business requirements are met, using the right tools for the job
  • Troubleshooting and supporting build, test, and deployment incidents if they happen
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation and processes


Basic Qualifications


  • 3+ years of relevant professional software engineer experience plus a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • 3+ years of professional coding skill and good understanding of data structure, design patterns, software testing and releases
  • 3+ years of knowledge and experience of the technologies that enable software build automation and deployment, including AWS, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Gradle, SonarQube, mobile and web application ci/cd, docker, bash/Python/Groovy scripts
  • Proficient understanding of concepts like CI/CD, trunk-based development, A/B testing, configuration management, cloud platforms, version control, automation, monitoring, analytics, and containerization
  • Additional Qualifications
  • Can independently lead projects
  • Familiarity working with cross functional operational teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative thinker who can devise solutions for complex problems
  • Desire to learn new technologies and latest industry standards
  • Experience with software build automation for mobile platforms (iOS and Android)
  • Experience with data analytics platforms (NewRelic, SumoLogic, Splunk, etc)
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform, Cloudformation, Ansible
  • Experience working with security compliance tools for security posture management
