KTVT & KTXA-DFW is looking for a dynamic Research Director to join our growing team! As our marketing guru, help us to build strategic information on the station's sales, news, web/mobile/digital streaming platforms and programming performance. This position qualifies for hybrid remote however must be local or willing to relocate to the DWF area. Come join our growing team!

 

Responsibilities:

  • Generate regular and ad hoc reports on key performance metrics for Linear TV, Sales, and Digital streaming
  • Find data stories from internal and external research sources
  • Track performance (Streaming, News, Sports, Prime & Syndicated)
  • Simplify complex information into proper context with actionable insights to sales and clients
  • Collaborate with GM, News, Digital Streaming, Creative Services, Community & Culture, Sales, and Marketing on strategies and provide recommendations based on the data
  • Develop and design market research study briefs, methodologies, and consumer profiles/personas (Media Kits, Qualitative Profiles etc.)
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and 3rd party vendors on executing research
  • Works with the advertising sales department and station management on projects and marketing initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of Comscore TV & Digital and Nielsen data

 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Use PC and Web based software to compile and analyze consumer research, retail expenditures, and product/lifestyle information in key retail categories
  • Assure accurate interpretation of quantitative research from Nielsen rating services and manage the analyzing and distribution of key findings to Department Heads and Ad sales staff
  • Execute research strategies and projects that support the needs of the General Manager, News Director, Director of Sales, Digital / Streaming, Community & Culture, and sales staff
  • Utilize custom geo-based demographic research and local qualitative research from a variety of resources including MRI, Scarborough, and U.S. Census to help build a solid qualitative case for our stations among advertisers in the marketplace
  • Effectively manage the development of sales and marketing materials including; ratings one-sheets, sports packages, demographic targeting pieces, competitive spending data (Kantar) etc.
  • Responsible for competitive spending reports including top advertisers report, zero share reports, category spending versus station share, sports spending
  • Serve as station expert in use of third-party software products that interpret syndicated research data. (Examples: STRATA, WRAP, Scarborough, KANTAR.)
  • Performs various other duties as required and assigned.

 

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • College Degree in Marketing or Advertising or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Experience in local broadcast TV, Digital / Streaming or cable
  • Highly proficient with a PC utilizing Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent writing, math and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with a positive attitude
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at a time, with superior time-management skills
  • Knowledge and proficient with Wrap Overnights, Comscore TV Essentials, Nielsen NLTV, Scarborough, MRI, Kantar, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Comscore Digital Metrics
  • Experience teaching creative research and marketing skills, and acting as coach/mentor
