We are looking for a dynamic, self-starter to tell engaging weather stories and produce graphics and weather-related segments. Ideal candidate must have superior forecasting and storytelling skills. Ability to produce easy to understand and informational visuals, maps, and graphics to communicate the weather story to customers every day on air, online and on social media platforms. 

 

Must have proven experience covering live severe weather. Must be comfortable both on-air and producing for other on-air meteorologists. 

 

Other duties include producing weather content, working with a team of meteorologists and executing station strategy; writing / preparing forecasts; producing graphics to tell the weather story across multiple platforms, strong social media presence. The candidate will also be required to periodically write and report weather related content for newscasts.


SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE:
-  On-air weathercasting experience within a TV Station

-  A degree in meteorology or related science.

-  Strong writing skills for broadcast and digital platforms

-  Proven track record of producing stand out weather related content

-  Be at ease working on camera and in front of a chroma-key

-  Ability to create and manage graphics used during weather within the broadcast

-  Ideal candidate needs to have strong social media skills.


REQUIREMENTS: 
B.S. Degree in Meteorology or Earth Sciences. Proficient in weather graphics production. Ability to live field report and write packages. 

Preferred: At least 5 years on air experience weather casting and weather producing preferred. Ability to shoot and edit video, WSI weather system knowledge and ability to employ all functions on multiple platforms. 

This position is based in Fort Worth working together with other CBS Stations.
