What will you be doing?

This exciting Content Solutions Manager role is a key role in the Product and Tech Ops team. With a particular focus on incorporating workflow improvements, technical changes, and new media workstreams to the Channel 5 VOD content operation, the role is responsible for the technical oversight and enhancement of the systems and services employed in the contribution, processing, and delivery of VOD and OTT content to Channel 5’s digital services.

As a key leader in the team, the role will manage the relationships with external service providers and internal teams, detailing change requests, prioritising programmes of work and ensuring support backlogs and workflow improvement tickets are prioritised and acted upon in a timely manner.

  • Assume the role of technical specialist for the content processing operation, VoD and OTT scheduling systems and the syndication of My5 content to both Owned & Operated and 3rd Party platforms.
  • Manage the relationship with Channel 5’s external media processing partners for service development projects and improvements.
  • Work closely with the Operations, Technology, Product and Editorial teams to collate, manage and prioritise new requirements for content management, media processing and workflow changes for new and growing My5 services.
  • Project manage major VOD projects, including content provider onboarding and systems and processing migrations.
  • Track and manage project costs to ensure expenditure remains within budget.
  • Maintain communication channels with project teams and partners.
  • Work with inter-departmental teams to ensure alignment of systems and optimised workflow integration
  • Find opportunities to improve departmental processes
  • Support the wider content and operations teams, ensuring ongoing operational excellence in the department
  • Be the subject matter specialist, documenting existing processes and workflows, ensuring material is kept up-to-date for users.
  • Embrace the ‘One ViacomCBS’ approach and encourage collaboration and team working
  • Be an ambassador for all VCNI channels, internally and externally

What are we looking for?

  • A highly organised person, with the ability to handle multiple tasks, manage prioritisation and problem solving
  • Excellent technical understanding and ability to communicate technical issues
  • A strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
  • An understanding of the video-on-demand market and strong and demonstrable interest in the internet as a platform for the delivery of content and services
  • Ability to align operational and strategic requirements
  • Experience defining and using content or schedule management tools
  • Strong project management experience, including risk and issue management
  • A great team player and an ambassador for on demand TV distribution to the wider organisation
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a broadcaster or within the video on demand supply chain
