What will you be doing?

We are looking for a Digital Channel Manager (YouTube) to join our team and manage the YouTube channels for some of ViacomsCBS UK’s core channel brands. You will take responsibility for and lead on the Nickelodeon UK YouTube channel, working with internal teams across social, creative, programming, production, commercial and international. You will also oversee the growth and expansion of the Channel 5 YouTube presence working with an external team of experienced channel practitioners.


We are seeking someone with a strategic and analytic focus to grow our channels through YouTube best practises and growth strategies, seeking out new ways of increasing viewership and revenue. The successful applicant will be responsible for content strategy, scheduling, optimisation and reporting on performance.

  • Run the day-to-day operation of assigned channels, including a degree of editing and channel management.
  • Prepare regular performance reports using YouTube analytics and other data software like Tubular Labs to understand and improve content performance, surfacing actionable insights.
  • Apply an informed optimisation strategy based on past performance, including copy and metadata writing and thumbnail creation
  • Drive growth, viewership and revenues across channels.
  • Proactively use audience development best practice to create compelling viewer and brand experiences .
  • Lead a small content creation team.
  • Work with Business Insights to ensure performance meets targets and KPIs.
  • Work with the Head of Social to ensure channel strategy is fully executed.
  • Keep on top of trends, news and algorithm changes.

What are we looking for?

  • Extensive and direct experience managing YouTube channels and confidence with analysing YouTube performance.
  • A deep understanding of all YouTube features including; analytics, Content ID, downloadable reports and live-streaming.
  • Interest in extending television brands into the online space.
  • Creative, proactive and adept at prioritising multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong copywriting skills & high attention to grammatical detail.
  • The ability to build relationships fast and have strong communications skills.
  • The ability to work in team environments.
  • Prior experience of managing a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, and creative editing programs such as Photoshop and Premier / Final Cut.
