The Human Resources BP (HRBP) will support CBS News International Bureaus & Lastfm. CBS News is a 24/7 dynamic business, with a global presence and employees working across several shows and departments. Lastfm is a subscription based service with users across the world, the platform tracks the music user’s stream to provide real time stats, weekly reports, listening history and much more.


This is a role for a collaborative, strategic, customer-focused HR Business Partner who will provide HR leadership and hands-on tactical support to our leaders and their staff. This multifaceted role focuses on aligning HR priorities with strategic objectives and leveraging HR programs, policies and initiatives to deliver the best in class employee experience. This role will work closely with global ViacomCBS HR teams.




  • Understand business goals and make appropriate recommendations related to people strategy
  • Partner with senior leaders to drive organizational changes
  • Support managers to create a culture of high performance, building goal setting and feedback capability by leveraging Paramount centers of excellence and tools
  • Continuously seek to improve HR processes and programs
  • Build the HR presence and function within the division
  • Drive key HR initiatives that support a culture of diversity, inclusion, & employee safety
  • Design and deliver HR programs, processes and initiatives that optimize the employee experience, and both invest in and nurture our talent Working with the L&D team and line managers to ensure that training needs are identified, meeting the needs of the business and employees, actively seeking opportunities to grow internal talent and identify skills gaps
  • Help guide and support recruiting efforts that help leaders identify and attract diverse talent
  •  Work with leaders to create an environment that identifies, acknowledges, grooms and promotes internal talent and high performers
  • Work closely and partner with global HR teams in multiple territories for local HR and employee law insight
  • Build leadership capability across the division through coaching and training. Be actively involved in employee performance reviews and management
  • Partner with management to resolve employee relation issues; provide mentor, coaching, counseling and guidance to management and staff; collaborate with external and internal legal counsel.
  • Work with ViacomCBS Learning & Development and/or broader CBS HR team as necessary to provide program recommendations and facilitation to ensure that appropriate learning opportunities exist and are accessible
  • Work across the HR team on special projects assuming a leadership or support role as needed
  • Help advance CBS HR Priorities by creating strong internal relationships with center of excellence experts in areas as Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR Operations and Organization, Benefits Team, Payroll, People Development and Security
  • Help create and communicate new policies, systems and workflows that align with the organizational HR and corporate vision
  • Mentor more junior members of the CBS News HR team



Skills & Experience:


  • At least 5 years generalist HR experience
  • Strong stakeholder Management, experience partnering with Senior International stakeholders (VP & SVP+) and Global teams.
  • Experience being the SME for UK/Intl employment law and articulating local considerations to global HR and Business stakeholders
  • Experience owning several end-to-end restructure projects and change management initiatives
  • Experience managing VISA/Immigration matters preferred
  • Experience working within the Broadcast/News industry a plus
  • Experience using data to help drive HR initiatives and business decisions
  • Ability to flex and adapt to changing situations with the capacity to pivot as necessary is critical
  • Ability to plan, challenge and innovate to help achieve the business objective
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required with an ability to work with stakeholders from entry to executive level
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment
  • Must be equally comfortable working as a solo practitioner or as part of a team
  • Demonstrated technical savvy with an ability to learn, explain and help implement new systems
  • Solid technical HR and employment law knowledge
