As a Social Media Executive you will be supporting in the day-to-day creation and curation of timely video-led content for a range of Channel 5 shows. With new drama and documentaries like The Teacher and Ben Fogle in Chernobyl to factual-entertainment and returning series including 22 Kids & Counting or Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly. Plus, boxsets for My5 with Yellowstone and Tyler Perry’s The Oval.

Working within the social team at Channel 5, the purpose of your role will be to drive channel and brand Reach, Reputation and Revenue across social platforms. We’re a relatively small, dynamic team punching well above our weight. We’re integrated into the wider marketing and creative teams and your work will be both seen and valued across the business, from the commissioning editors and production companies to the commercial teams, as well as reaching the TV viewing public.

 

What will you be doing?

Working closely with the Channel 5 Social Media Manager, Production Manager and Social Video Editors, you'll assist across content creation and publishing for the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

  • Help to run a fast-paced and reactive schedule; ensuring assets are uploaded to social platforms in a timely manner.
  • Source media files and assets for use within content creation.
  • Generate compelling and engaging social media edit briefs that are fit for platform purpose.
  • Reformatting content for social platforms; updating social artwork.
  • Complete file and subtitle checks to ensure social content is outstanding and ready to publish.
  • Take an active role in the planning and scheduling of content, ensuring best practices are adhered to across platforms.
  • Research, write and identify successful social copy, in line with brand tone of voice.
  • Support with media management so that social content is well organised and can be easily shared with presenters and partners
  • Supporting with show reporting by keeping up to date with what our audiences are saying about C5 shows.
  • Embrace the ‘One ViacomCBS’ approach and encourage collaboration and team working
  • Be an ambassador for all VCNI channels, internally and externally
  • Adopt and promote the ViacomCBS values and support a culture of inclusion

 

What are we looking for?

  • A demonstrable passion for and excellent knowledge of social media, with an understanding what works.
  • An obsession with entertainment and pop culture and able to share great social references.
  • The ability to be smart, funny and eye-catching in two sentences or less.
  • Previous experience with social content production - Adobe Photoshop or Premiere skills are a must.
  • Maintain a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail across all output.
  • Proven ability to confidently and effectively copywrite and proofread.
  • Demonstrate great organisational skills, ability to prioritise and own your own workload.
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and thrive under pressure.
  • Previous experience working on a social channel with a growing or engaged audience.
  • Experience with community management.
  • Ability to build great working relationships and take direction.
  • Experience in TV, media or entertainment is a bonus.
