CBS Television Stations consists of 28 CBS-owned stations in 17 major U.S. markets, as well as the stations’ digital properties. The portfolio of stations includes 15 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates.

The station group’s properties also include CBSN Local, a joint initiative with CBS Interactive that features direct-to-consumer streaming news services in the markets where the Company has local news organizations. CBS Television Stations’ premium local content is also distributed to consumers by the group’s websites and mobile applications.



WFOR/WBFS-TV has an opening for a Transmitter Technician. This position will be split between the transmitter site and the studio. The person in this position will be responsible for monitoring transmitter performance to ensure broadcast signals conform to FCC regulations, identifying defective equipment and making repairs, and logging all repairs and adjustments to transmitter equipment. Additional responsibilities include parts and supply planning, monitoring the work of third-party agencies and ensuring everyone on-site follows proper physical safety procedures and restrictions imposed for radiation hazards without exception, and other duties as assigned. Studio work may include equipment install, equipment maintenance, and other duties as assigned. This position is vital to the operation of the station and will be required to be “On-Call” in the event of technical or security emergencies that arise.


Broadcast transmitter maintenance experience.
The ability to climb ladders and preform work overhead.
The ability to move up to 100lbs of equipment.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
A firm grasp of FCC regulations related to broadcast television.
FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License a plus.
