CG Generalist, Noggin, Interactive Media

Noggin is a leading early learning service for families. We deliver streaming and interactive learning content that helps young kids develop skills, knowledge, and passions through play with the characters they love. We also help parents help their kids thrive. A direct-to-consumer offering available on 10+ platforms, Noggin reaches families in the domestic market through standalone mobile apps, connected TV apps, and add-on channels. We are establishing a team of highly motivated individuals who are eager to work in a start-up-like environment within a large media company. We need innovators and self-starters who are passionate about playful learning and comfortable working in a fast-paced, creative-led organization.

The Play-Along Video (“PAV”) team is one of several groups producing content for the Noggin app. All content produced by this group is guided by Noggin’s curriculum framework.

What We Need in a CG Generalist

Noggin is seeking a hardworking CG Generalist, with a solid background in 3D production, to join our creative team in New York City!


  • Deliver consistent high-quality aesthetic/technical work and communicate effectively with Animation Director and artists
  • Perform a diverse array of 3D fields (i.e. modeling, rigging, texturing, shading, lighting, rendering) in a fast-paced production environment
  • Work effectively with the team to problem-solve creative and technical issues on assigned shots


  • High-level technical knowledge of various CG fields with 3+ years of experience in a production environment
  • Proficient in Maya and Modern Rendering System (i.e. Arnold, Vray, Redshift)
  • Experience in asset creation, modeling, and texturing
  • The ability to fix and expand upon existing rigs for use in Maya or game engines
  • Understanding of how to optimize and update existing assets for use in-game engines
  • Working knowledge of game engine pipeline, ideally Unity
  • Proactive in picking up proprietary tools
  • Successfully execute all necessary assigned tasks with a positive attitude while under tight production schedule deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the following tools:
  • Maya
  • Unity
  • Photoshop

Additional Qualifications

  • Game Studio experience
  • Previous experience with Python scripting a plus
  • Knowledge of real-world photography and camera techniques with an understanding of lighting principles and color theory
