CBS News and Stations is looking to add a Business Affairs Coordinator to its team! The ideal candidate is a professional who is comfortable working in an exciting, faced paced environment - handling a wide variety of sensitive and confidential information.  They will be responsible for assisting the various executives with the Business Affairs Department carry out the goals of the company and department- reviewing agreements, managing/tracking payments, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.


Responsibilities:
-Handle confidential and sensitive material in a professional manner.
-Review and draft term sheets, employee communications, and payment memoranda.
-Potential to negotiate employment contracts for on- and off-air personnel directly with talent and/or their representatives, as applicable.
-Work cross functionally and tactically with all other key departments, including Distribution, Finance, Human Resources, Labor Relations, Legal Affairs, Operations, Production, and Talent Strategy. 
-Manage calendar for executives of Business Affairs.
-Prepare agreements for signature and scan, email, and e-file.
-Receive and review invoices, secure necessary payment approvals, generate, and distribute payment memoranda.
-Execute appropriate forms in connection with any changes, promotions, new hires and departures.
-Resolve issues and answer any talent/agent/internal inquiries, coordinating with other departments when necessary.
-Track payments and appearances for select talent.
-Provide general administrative support for executives of Business Affairs, as needed.

 

Qualifications:

-Preferred bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 
-Prior Executive Assistant or Paralegal experience a plus 
-Superior written and verbal communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, including succinctly conveying and explaining complex concepts to others outside, and at all levels of, the company.
-Proficiency in implementing multiple, high-priority projects concurrently, proactively, and efficiently and in a dedicated manner under tight timeframes with a keen attention to detail, organizational skills and time management.
-Exceptional Microsoft Office suite skills – particularly Excel and Word.
-A professional, positive, and confident demeanor and excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills.
-Extraordinary initiative and ability to build and work both autonomously as well as collaboratively with the business affairs team and other company executives and departments.
-Ability to demonstrate creativity, flexibility, and adaptability within corporate parameters and accept rapidly evolving situations and tasks outside of existing areas of expertise.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $48,800.00 - 61,000.00. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
