Digital Operations & Strategy Manager, MTV Entertainment Group

We are looking for a new Digital Operations & Strategy Manager! This role will be responsible for the day-to-day planning and management of social cross-brand campaigns, company initiatives and special projects, serving as a central resource for information, process workflow and digital content distribution. This position will contribute to the project directors who are determining strategic and creative supervision for all digital cross-brand initiatives. Initiatives will include Social Impact, Events, Paramount+ support, MTV Entertainment Group and ViacomCBS priorities. This role reports directly into the Director(s), Digital Operations, MTV Entertainment Group.


The ideal candidate is comfortable working collaboratively within a large, multi-layered organization. They will work across many different brand teams within digital, as well as within the larger organization. The ideal candidate should be part producer, part project management and part digital strategist, being able to drive in all three lanes. The ability to maintain relationships and communicate effectively with constituents in MTV Entertainment Group’s Brand Creative, Brand Social, Video Production, Social Impact, Press and Cross-Company Marketing teams is essential.


Primary responsibilities include:

  • Partner with cross-company and cross-brand marketing teams to understand campaign plans, company priorities and goals to distill information in a social-first manner

  • Work with social brand managers, internal marketing teams and producers to effectively create support plans for priority initiatives as set forth by external groups

  • Ability to compile insights and issues to build strategic recommendations and problem solve with Directors

  • Support ideation and pitches for digital-first concepts on cross-brand campaigns

  • Track and manage delivery of assets through various teams; keep one-sheet and project rundowns up-to-date as needed

  • Track and maintain publishing rollout for launch for comprehensive reporting wrap-up

  • Partner with social analytics and research to guide reporting insights and social recommendations


Additional responsibilities:

  • Support the team who manages and determines digital creative, strategy, and execution as set forth by creative leads and senior producers

  • Develop status reports and work with principal project leaders to ensure continuity across all resources

  • Coordinate scheduling for cross-departmental operations

  • Assist in info sharing and adhering to campaign guidelines Required



  • 3-5 years of digital content production, social strategy planning and/or digital project management experience at a major commercial media, entertainment or creative brand or interactive agency

  • Experience with delivering assets to be programmed across a variety of digital platforms and the trafficking of content through different departments to final delivery

  • Strong understanding of content creation for digital platforms in the ever-changing social media landscape

  • Strong understanding digital strategy and social standards

  • Intimate familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and other major social networks

  • Working knowledge of project management ticketing systems and technical specs

  • Working knowledge of digital technologies, such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, CMS tools, Google Drive, Slack and more

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Extremely detail-oriented

  • Ability to multitask on several projects at once

  • Familiarity with the MTV Entertainment Group brands (Comedy Central, MTV, MTV News, Logo, Paramount Network, TV Land, Pop!, CMT, Smithsonian, VH1) and series a plus

  • Working knowledge of the streaming entertainment landscape and Paramount Global streaming service
