Legal Administrative Assistant, MTV Entertainment

Are you passionate about television and have an interest in the business side? If so, join our incredible Business & Legal Affairs team.  We provide day-to-day business and legal services for the MTV Entertainment Studios Group, focusing on Development and Production. You will support three attorneys and provide support as otherwise needed across the group.



  • Filing:
    • Build and maintain well-organized digital filing systems, including drafting contract summaries, deal tracking, maintaining show charts and databases, and similar administrative matters
    • Data entry including coordination of document scanning; creating and maintaining databases and spread sheets, such as contract status logs; leading all aspects of document delivery
    • Build and track production binders for shows
  • Document Execution:
    • Process the execution and dissemination of agreements to appropriate parties
    • Review legal contracts for execution by management
    • Assist Production/Finance personnel with contract inquiries
  • Drafting:
    • Opportunity to learn and develop contract drafting skills while drafting correspondence, deal summaries, contract, and legal memos, and revising and redlining legal documents, under the supervision of attorneys
  • Other Administrative Tasks:
    • Perform various other organizational and support functions on ad-hoc basis, including providing backup support to other executives and members of the department.
    • Maintain calendars and schedules, including coordinating internal and external meetings, conference calls, team events and outings, and conference room bookings
    • Answer phones with professional demeanor; maintain phone/email log with contact information
    • Initiate, and respond to, facility requests
    • Book travel and process travel and expense reports
    • Take meeting notes for specific show/program calls, as well as team meetings
    • Liaise with assistants across the company and industry in a professional and courteous manner
    • Conduct other administrative duties as required



  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 1 year experience in an administrative assistant capacity
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for the television industry, with strong interest in the business side of entertainment
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multitask, properly prioritize and meet deadlines. Quick turnaround time on most assignments required
  • Extraordinary communication skills including, without limitation, maintaining a professional demeanor while calmly and efficiently handling a large volume of phone calls and paperwork
  • Skilled in MS Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Sharepoint. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills
  • Self-control to maintain a high-level of confidentiality
  • The Business & Legal Affairs group works with their counterparts in a highly collaborative manner – the ideal candidate will have a cooperative, positive, team-oriented, and can-do spirit

  • Aptitude to anticipate and properly resolve administrative issues/problems without direction
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Working knowledge of iManage and Scenechronize, a plus
