Overview and Responsibilities:

The BET Consumer Insights Manager will be an analytical storyteller responsible for supporting BET as part of the Consumer Insights team. This individual will serve in a hybrid role to help to guide Digital Strategy, Content Excellence, Thought Leadership and Marketing & Media Intelligence for the BET family of brands.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support all of BET’s lines of business related to digital experiences
  • Help facilitate and/or lead cross-functional projects in relation to digital strategy initiatives
  • Conduct and assist with market and competitive research to help inform digital roadmaps
  • Work with vendors to facilitate projects related to carrying out our digital strategy and insights efforts
  • Work closely with the Digital Analytics teams to understand the BET business opportunities with a digital focus
  • Assist in handling custom research solutions for digital landscape from bet.com site development to social media content
  • Conduct iterative usability testing on digital experience during various phases of product build and provide recommendations on how to quickly improve the product
  • Contribute to innovative thought leadership pieces that advance the business and maintain our brands’ position in the digital space
  • Participate in measurement opportunities to optimize media effectiveness and targeting across campaigns. Examples include MMM and MTA measurement solutions, marketing target segmentation, etc.
  • Manage the online consumer community to drive rich insight for BET and advertiser partners
  • Assist with large scale qualitative and quantitative research projects, including research design, pre-planning and asset collection, vendor management, qualitative research moderation, data analysis, report writing and dissemination/presentation of findings


Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in related field
  • 4+ years experience in media, advertising or consumer research
  • 3-4 years of prior experience in an e-commerce, digital marketing, strategy or analytics role
  • Experience using analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Omniture, etc), social listening tools (Crimson Hexagon, Talkwalker, etc.) and/or data portals/warehouses (Qualtrics, Power BI, etc.)
  • Understanding of Nielsen linear ratings and streaming (e.g. Comscore)


Additional Qualifications:

  • Passion for the entertainment space and BET’s programming. Strong knowledge of the cable television industry, particularly the Black consumer market, including the programming, marketing, and distribution aspects of the competitive category targeting this consumer
  • Strong storytelling with a proven background in translating data into insights and insights into stories that influence decisions
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and multi-task
  • Strong work ethic and integrity
