The Senior Editor will acquire and edit 10 – 12 books per year in the self-help and professional development categories. The senior editor will monitor the marketplace to identify emerging trends and authorities in the professional development space. The Senior Editor will evaluate book proposals and build the financial forecast for their acquisition. The Senior Editor will negotiate and manage relationships with agents, manage production schedules, collaborate with managing editors, production managers and designers to publish high quality books while remaining fiscally responsible. The Senior Editor will champion their authors and books to the rest of the imprint and the company to maximize the impact of the publishing efforts.

 

The candidate for this position will have a minimum of 6 years of editorial experience with a major trade publisher and a proven ability to acquire and successfully publish books in the professional development category
