Position Overview:


BET is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Vice President of Digital Ad Sales to lead our advertising sales efforts across our various digital platforms. The successful candidate will drive revenue growth by developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, forging key partnerships, and delivering best-in-class advertising solutions to our clients.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead and manage the digital ad sales team, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and support to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to maximize advertising revenue across existing and emerging digital platforms, including Streaming/SVOD, FAST/AVOD, social, web and mobile.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with advertising agencies, brands, and media buyers, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner in meeting their advertising objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, sponsorships, and innovative ad formats, to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Develop groundbreaking sponsorship opportunities that resonate with both proactive and reactive/RFPs, showcasing the unique essence of BET Networks
  • Showcase the strengths of our brands by crafting compelling sales collateral, sponsorship offerings, and targeted activities tailored to Media Decision Makers.
  • Develop sales tools and materials to meet evolving business needs, including strategic narratives, content development, and graphic design direction.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry developments in digital advertising, identifying opportunities to innovate and differentiate our offerings in the marketplace.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in digital media sales, with a focus on digital advertising

 

Additional Qualifications: 

 

 

  • Proven track record of success in driving digital ad sales revenue ($50 million or more), exceeding targets, and building and leading high-performing sales teams.
  • Deep understanding of digital advertising ecosystem, including programmatic advertising, audience targeting, ad formats, and measurement metrics.
  • Strong network of relationships with advertising agencies, brands, and media buyers, with a demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships.
  • A strong understanding of black culture and insights, ensuring our offerings resonate authentically with our audience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset, capable of developing and executing innovative sales strategies to drive business growth and market leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player, contributing positively to group dynamics and fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques to inform decision-making and optimize sales performance.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $300,000.00 - 375,000.00. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.  This position is eligible to earn sales incentive compensation.
