Software Engineer, Web Platform 

 

Summary 

 

As part of our engineering team, you will work with project managers, product developers, designers, and brand producers to develop consumer-facing experiences for the Web platform.  If you like solving problems creatively, love writing beautiful code, understand data structures and algorithms, are open to feedback from others, and know how to give constructive feedback, we want to hear from you. 

 

Your day-to-day:  

 

·         Build fast, stable, testable, and reliable front-end and back-end solutions using modern JavaScript technologies for desktop and mobile browsers.  

·         Collaborate with product managers, designers, and your team to build interactive features.  

·         Improve the overall quality, performance, and stability of the codebase. 

·         Participate in Code Reviews where you will be giving and receiving feedback. 

·         Be part of support teams and perform root cause analysis.   

·         Work with a group of developers of various experience levels. 

 

What you bring to the team:   

 

·         3+ years of hands-on professional experience building and deploying web solutions.  

·         Deep understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including algorithms, design patterns, and data structures.  

·         Advanced knowledge and passion for client-side web technologies and best practices.   

·         Advanced understanding of JavaScript, preferably in a React context. 

·         Advanced understanding of CSS, its best practices and performance tuning.  

·         Experience building, deploying, and debugging Node.js applications.    

·         Experience with Git, rebasing, branching strategies, and pull requests.   

 

You might also have:  

 

·         Experience with unit testing methodologies, frameworks, and software/tools.   

·         Experience writing code using a functional programming approach.   

·         Experience writing Single Page and Universal JavaScript applications.  

·         Experience with working on a CI/CD workflow process.  

·         Familiar with Scrum and Kanban Agile software development methodologies.  

·         Prior experience with adaptive video streaming technologies, digital advertising platforms, web analytics integration.   

·         You participate and have had success in hackathons.   

·         You contribute to open source.
