Job Profile:

We have an exciting vacancy for a marketing professional to join our creative and dynamic team. Reporting to the Junior Marketing Manager, you will work across all areas of the Simon & Schuster adult publishing list. You will have responsibility for developing, creating and designing the highest quality design work within agreed briefs, budgets and schedules, taking ownership of the design process from start to finish.

 

The Role: 

 

The Marketing Designer will provide an in-house design resource to respond to the increasing demands of the Marketing & Publicity department.  To work across the complete spectrum of the Indian titles, group & client publishers print and digital, and take ownership of each project from start to finish. This role will also be responsible for producing design specifications to meet the brief, policy guidelines and budget. This may include promotional material, cover designs, typesetting and illustrations. There will also be responsibility for organising and processing allocated design projects. This would include seeking approval at agreed stages with relevant internal customers, checking proofs, managing costs, maintaining design and production schedules.

 

 

The Candidate Profile: 

 

We are looking for a talented individual with strong marketing, digital and design skills plus an imaginative approach and a demonstrable understanding of book publishing.  You will have a flair for writing great copy, a keen eye for design with the ability to deliver impactful, inventive campaigns across all media whilst being assured in front of the camera.  You will be confident delivering pitches and presentations to authors, agents and retailers. The successful candidate will display strategic thinking and planning, detailed market awareness and consumer insight alongside creative abilities. You will have experience of running social media campaigns and have skills to create content on Adobe Creative Suite. An understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects is a must. It would be advantageous for candidates to have a strong awareness of social media trends and presenting innovative ideas that will drive and keep the business growing.
