*This role is based in Canberra, as such the successful candidate is required to work from our Canberra office.
 
What you’ll do as an Executive Editor: 
 
The Executive Editor (Canberra) is responsible for the day-to-day management of the 10 News Canberra Bureau. This is a fast paced, hands-on role through which bureau direction is set, and the team effectively managed.  

 

Functions will also include: 
 
•    Prioritisation and selection of news stories
•    Ensuring bulletins maintain live content
•    Maximising product across all social media
•    Network consistency, contributing stories to the national news desk
•    Maintaining & developing strong relationships with studio, editing and graphics staff

 

What are we looking for? What’s essential?  
 
•    8+ years editorial experience including 5+ years in a leadership role
•    Relevant tertiary qualifications
•    Proven ability work to tight deadlines in a rapidly changing technology and editorial environment
•    Effective communication skills
•    Time management skills
•    Excellent attention to detail
•    High degree of competency with editing equipment
