Sydney Based Role - This role is within a hybrid working environment within a project delivery model. On average the role will require 50% of workdays per year in office but that can vary during any given week.


What you’ll do as a Strategy Manager:


As a key individual contributor to the strategy team, you will help develop and execute key strategic initiatives related to our multi-platform ecosystem across Australia and New Zealand, including digital streaming, pay TV and FTA networks.

This is a highly visible individual contributor position focused on supporting the ANZ leadership team. The role works within a small cluster strategy team to enable the highest priority projects in the region. The role will have ample opportunities to drive real projects through to completion. 

Key Responsibilities will include:


Advanced Financial modelling of strategic initiatives including new platform launches, major content licensing opportunities, and equity transactions. The Strategy Manager should expect to spend approximately 50% of the working week developing financial models
Partnering with local stakeholders and functional teams across the business to define, structure and assess strategic growth and expansion initiatives. The role works within different cross-functional teams for every project playing different positions depending on project from functional lead to task contributor
Supporting company transformation projects by translating initiatives into financial and customer outcomes that are in line with long term objectives
Project managing major projects through the ideation and feasibility phase by collaborating with key commercial, finance, content, marketing, and operations leaders 
Synthesising and presenting complex information and data in a clear, concise, and structured manner to key partners; effectively articulating ideas and concepts via all forms of communication but most often PowerPoint 

What are we looking for in a Strategy Manager? What’s important?  


Dependant on your background, anywhere between 3-6 years experience performing duties and responsibilities similar to what is outlined above; at least two years of professional services experience in banking or consulting
Tertiary qualified, ideally STEM, business and/or economics
Advanced Excel skills within a financial modelling environment; specifically building complex scenario-based models without precedent models to work with or operate
Advanced PowerPoint capabilities within a high attention to detail environment
Strong stakeholder engagement/management skills
Project Management background with a focus on timelines, documentation and communications
Key personality traits, you are extremely energetic, curious, and analytical
Extra points for the following, but not necessarily required:  
•    Industry exposure/experience within consumer subscriptions, media, entertainment, or ad sales 
•    Transaction modelling in an M&A environment
•    Financial modelling across all financial statements i.e. BS, IS, CF
•    Subscription and/or advertising based commercial models specifically regarding modelling projections
