Network 10 is looking for an enthusiastic and driven senior social video producer to join the team at 10 News First.  
We are looking for people who can edit and post videos from the news bulletins, Studio 10 and other programmes to social channels.  You must understand the need for analytics to respond to audiences, while having high level creative skills to optimise content to ensure its reach and engagement.  Given it’s heavily in the news space, you will have advanced understanding of the legal, regulatory and community standards relevant for the content you are producing.   
You will need to enjoy being part of a local newsroom, as well as a broader team around the country. You’ll also need to be hungry for news and be on top of the latest social tools, algorithms and technologies that engage with audiences.  

 

We’re also looking for people with proven skills in social and video production and editing tools, who have worked in a newsroom.  
 
Duties and Key Responsibilities:  

  • Creatively produce and edit video content for 10 News First and 10 social accounts relating to editorial content  
  •  Respond to data-based insight for content production  
  •  Understanding of legal requirements of news and social and 10 News First tone of voice and ethical guidelines  
  •  Use of CMS and other systems for digital output of 10 News First bulletins  
  •  Have experience in and a clear understanding of Search Engine Optimisation   
  •  Watch analytics and self-report 
  •  Execute a daily content plan 
  •  Ensure content goes out within given timeframes and in line with any content sharing arrangements 
  • Work closely with the broadcast news teams across the country to ensure the most efficient, timely and creative optimisation of content. 
  • As a senior newsroom figure, you will be comfortable collaborating with all parts of the newsroom, while also leading others around you.  

 
Ideal Experience and Skills: 

  • University or TAFE qualifications in media, journalism and/or production related fields 
  • Understanding of best practice for video publishing, aspect ratios and media formats specific to each social platform. 
  • Experience with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube analytics tools; Crowdtangle; Google Trends  
  • At least two years experience in a newsroom, with a particular focus on social and broadcast content 
  • Intermediate video editing skills with professional experience using software such as Premiere, Media Composer, Final Cut Pro or Easycut essential
