Staff Accountant

CBS Television Network is one of America's flagship television network brands built around three premier programming divisions: CBS Entertainment, CBS News and CBS Sports. CBS was established in 1928, when founder William Paley purchased 16 independent radio stations and christened them the Columbia Broadcasting system.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant who is comfortable in a high energy and dynamic environment, eager to learn new skills and roll up their sleeves to work on projects both big and small.

Responsibilities

• Month and quarter end close and ownership of journal entry preparation, account reconciliations and analysis
• Assist with various quarterly and annual reporting to Corporate
• Participate in SOX testing, audits, and annual tax package preparation
• Provide backup coverage in other accounting areas
• Contribute to department and organization special projects, as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
• Minimum 3+ years of experience
• Proven oral and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic and an acute attention to detail
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Timely communication flow and status on responsibilities and deadlines
• Good initiative, with the ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet required deadlines
• Strong PC skills including Excel and the ability to quickly pick up new systems
• Experience with Oracle Financials and IBM TM1 or similar systems
• Prior experience in working within a team environment
