CBS News is seeking to fill a full-time Avid Editor for the LA Bureau to support CBS Mornings, the Evening News and other LA-based programming. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of non-linear editing experience and the ability to work in a highly deadline-driven environment. Ideal candidate should have basic media manager skills which include the ability to transcode, ingest and route signals remotely and in the bureau. He/she will have strong communication skills with the ability to build strong professional relationships and work calmly under pressure. This is a hybrid in which the editor works from home and should be prepared to come into the bureau when needed.

· Schedule typically begins at 5p and goes into the overnight hours
· Work with editorial staff to creatively craft video packages for broadcast on deadline
· Ensure proper adherence to documented guidelines and departmental procedures regarding delivery specifications for various broadcasts and platforms
· Good interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with producers and correspondents

· Minimum 3 - 5 years non-linear editing experience on Avid Media Composer at a network or production facility
· Experience in an Avid Interplay environment is a plus
· Experience in Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and Media Encoder is a plus
· Familiarity with Adobe Media Encoder, Adobe Prelude and all Apps associated with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
· A thorough understanding of media management in a production environment is expected
· On-line demo of recent work
· Working flexible and occasional long hours often under tight deadline.
· Must be a self-starter and require minimal supervision

*2 year college degree or trade school equivalent preferred.
*3-5 years of major market television experience.
*Knowledge of all OSHA safety rule-certification preferred.
*Available to work any days & shifts in a 24/7 broadcast environment.
