The CBS News White House unit is seeking a Producer with strong editorial, reportorial and logistical skills to cover the White House! They will be expected to cultivate sources, cover events across the administration, work with correspondents at the White House and in the field, travel on short notice and report and write for CBSNews.com.

 

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of journalism experience (TV experience preferred), and the ability to thrive in a fast paced news environment. They will have superior writing, editing and research skills and the ability to work with camera crews. Experience editing taped packages is a plus. The candidate must be available to work weekends.

 

Requirements:

  • Cultivate sources and cover events across the administration.
  • Organize crews, log events and work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Edit taped packages, conduct research and book interviews.
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive, collaborative team player who works well with others in a fast paced, dynamic news environment.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to successfully juggle multiple priorities in pursuit of the story.
  • Strong editorial/news judgement with ability to synthesize and disseminate information quickly and accurately.
  • Strong writing and editing skills; Avid preferred.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience working in a deadline driven, news environment; television experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel and work weekends when necessary as news demands.
  • Broadcast and Digital experience preferred.
  • College Degree in broadcast journalism, history, or political science or related field preferred, but not required.
